Overview

This guide outlines the key electrical specifications required during the installation of your Glow Sauna. Please ensure this information is passed directly to your licensed electrician before any work begins. All wiring must meet the Australian and New Zealand electrical standards.

Power Requirements

- Power Supply: Single Phase, 230–240 V AC

- Circuit Breaker: 32 Amp RCBO
(combined RCD and circuit breaker)

- Cable: 6 mm², 2 Core + Earth (TPS)

These components ensure safe and stable operation of the sauna on a dedicated line.

Switch and Weatherproof Box

Your electrician should install:

- Isolator Switch: 40 Amp, Weatherproof, IP66 rated, 2 pole

- Weatherproof Adaptable Box: Approx. 380 mm width, 300 mm height, 120 mm depth

- Internal Connector: K16 plug connector fitted inside the box

This setup supports safe isolation and protection of the sauna’s electrical connection.

Additional Requirements

To maintain compliance and safety, your electrician must:

Use waterproof glands and UV rated conduit

Label the isolator switch:
“SAUNA ISOLATOR: DO NOT SWITCH OFF UNDER LOAD”

Ensure all wiring meets AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules

Quick Installation Notes

The sauna must run on a dedicated 32 A circuit

Check cable length and potential voltage drop

Mount the isolator in a location that is accessible and easy to reach

After installation, test:

  • RCD
  • Earth continuity
  • Polarity

Your electrician will understand how to complete these checks as part of standard compliance testing.
